Join Pickering Creek Audubon Center Director Mark Scallion for an exploration of trees of Delmarva. You’ll explore several different local sites, both public and private, as you learn the 40 most common trees that are found on the coastal plain. Over the course of the fall we’ll learn to identify trees not just by leaves, but also buds, twigs, bark and fruit. Along the way we’ll discuss the ecology of forests and the history and uses of trees. We also cover occasional fall blooming plants we encounter along the way. This course assumes no previous expertise and is open to persons of all skill levels.
The majority of this class will be held outdoors and a moderate amount of walking will be involved. Please dress appropriately.
