ALL Course: Independence and the Chesapeake Bay

September 19, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Independence and the Chesapeake Bay
With Tim Boyle

Date: Tuesday, September 19
Time: 10:00–11:30am
Location: Van Lennep Auditorium, CBMM Campus

Course Description:
Have you ever wondered which Marylander in the Continental Congress voted for the Declaration of Independence but didn’t sign it? Or who printed the first printing of the Declaration with the signers’ names attached? (Hint: she was a Marylander!) The 18th century in Maryland was an exciting, tumultuous, and often brutal time to be alive. Caught up in the turbulent events of the day, Marylanders had to choose which side they would support: independence or loyalty to King George III. During this discussion session, we’ll step back in time and talk about the people, places and events in Maryland, and on the Eastern Shore, which helped turn Maryland from British colony into the Old Line State.

Members $10 | Non-Members $15
