Like to sing? Wish you knew more about what’s going on when you do? Want to improve your voice by learning how to use it more intentionally? Do you know how to pronounce the word larynx? This class will teach you how sound is produced when singing and how you can use this knowledge to improve your singing. The first half of each class will consist of discussion about the vocal mechanism and vocal exercises to get you accustomed to applying the techniques of singing. The second half will be ensemble singing – rounds, canons, and part songs. Don’t panic, you won’t be required to sing alone or be heard; the goal is to experience the joy (and fun) of singing and creating music with others. All voice parts are welcome. And if that doesn’t mean anything to you, it will by the end of the class, along with lots of other terms. While no prior choral experience is required, the classes will be very helpful to those who sing or have sung in amateur or church choirs and want to learn more about the voice and singing.
Members $30 | Non-Members $45
