Meet: Jaime Windon, CBMM Friends Board
(ST. MICHAELS, MD — October 15, 2016) Jaime Windon moved to St. Michaels in 2012, after living and working in Kenya as a photographer. An elected Town of St. Michaels Commissioner through 2018, Jaime is also the co-founder and owner of Lyon Distilling Co., Maryland’s premier craft distillery, located in St. Michaels.
CBMM first brought Jaime to St. Michaels when she photographed a wedding held on campus. After moving here, Jaime attended a women’s woodworking class (one of CBMM’s boatyard programs), and soon realized that CBMM’s waterfront was a wonderful place to watch the sunrise. Jaime says, “It’s a thrill to be alone on campus—normally such a bustling place—to watch the light casting across the water as the sun rises.”
Jaime joined CBMM’s Friends Board in 2015. CBMM’s Friends Board is comprised of individuals who have their local and regional communities at heart, and helps guide CBMM in its endeavors to strengthen partnerships and develop new ones. Jaime is enjoying getting to know other members and providing her advice to help further CBMM’s mission.
Jaime loves the Chesapeake Bay because it provides opportunities for scenic enjoyment and recreation juxtaposed with practical support and vitalization for the region. As a resident of St. Michaels, she feels proud to have CBMM in her community. CBMM shares the authentic legacy of Eastern Shore tradition through its working boatyard, exhibitions, and programs. In turn, this legacy operates synergistically with other businesses in town, like Lyon Distilling and their offerings of authentic, hand-crafted spirits.
We thank Jaime for her time and dedication to CBMM!
