Visitors to the Museum encounter Chesapeake Bay history first-hand through real people, real work, and original artifacts, visual arts, and indigenous watercraft.


The Museum and Museum Store are open
year-round, varying by season.

May to October, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
November to April, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Closed: Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's days

Inclement Weather Closings:
The Museum will follow the Talbot County Public School's closings for inclement weather. Visit to see if there are any delays or closings.

CBMM Dog Policy
Effective September 1, 2014

During CBMM festivals and special events,
dogs ARE NOT permitted on Museum grounds,
with the exception of certified service dogs.

Leashed dogs ARE permitted on Museum
grounds during regular business hours.

*Active military members receive year-round free admission, and from Memorial Day through Labor Day, Active Military members and their families receive free admission. All prices are subject to change.

Boat Rides on the Winnie Estelle

Scenic Miles River cruises aboard the Winnie Estelle are offered to CBMM guests and the public Fridays through Mondays, May through September. Four, 30-minute cruises will be offered daily at $15 per person for non-members, $10 for CBMM members, and $5 for children under six. Click here for more info!

The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is located in St. Michaels, Maryland on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The Museum is located nine miles from Easton, MD off MD Rt. 33 West. Route 33 becomes the main street of St. Michaels. About half a mile into St. Michaels you will see a Museum Entrance sign on the right. Follow the signs to Museum parking and to the Admissions Building, where you will find friendly, knowledgeable staff to point your way.
