Directions & Parking
The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is located at 213 N. Talbot Street in historic St. Michaels, on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. CBMM’s entrance is nine miles from Easton, MD off MD Rt. 33 West.
Route 33 becomes the main street of St. Michaels (Talbot Street) and you will drive through the historic district and before the Inn at Perry Cabin.
About half a mile into St. Michaels you will see CBMM’s Entrance sign on the right, past Cherry Street and past Mill Street. You will know you are in the right place when you drive under the old Knapps Narrows Bridge that once connected the rest of the world to Tilghman Island, which now greets members and guests at our entrance. Bus parking is available for groups.
Follow the signs to Museum parking and the brick path with painted crabs that will lead you along St. Michaels’ harbor front to our Welcome Center and Museum Store.
Do not turn down Cherry Street or Mill Street (unless you are walking) as they do not have access to the CBMM’s Parking Lot.
The Museum’s facilities are handicapped accessible, with the exception of the Hooper Strait Lighthouse and the upper decks of the Boat Shop. When planning to visit or attend a program, please call ahead for assistance.
