CBMM has many options for touring campus and our waterways. Choose from self-guided or guided walking tours, a scenic river cruise aboard the historic 1920 buyboat Winnie Estelle, and more.

Exhibitions

CBMM’s interpretive exhibitions and public programs highlight Chesapeake Bay maritime history and culture. Learn about Native American life, seventeenth- and eighteenth-century trans-Atlantic trade, naval history, the Bay’s unique watercraft and boatbuilding traditions, navigation, waterfowling, boating, seafood harvesting, and recreation

Special Exhibitions change throughout the year and feature unique collections, maritime artists, and world-class photographers.

Shipyard

CBMM’s Working Shipyard creates anew the tradition of working at the waterfront. Shipwrights and apprentices provide a tangible connection to the Chesapeake’s rich story of boatbuilding.
