Rising Tide After-School Workshop
Rising Tide is an after-school program for students in grades 6-9. Students will learn project design and development, team collaboration, tool management and use, and workshop safety in a project-based learning environment. Registration for a full eight-week session is required. No experience is necessary.
This fall, we will offer Rising Tide on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Sept. 15-Nov. 5. Students are invited to join us for one or both days.
Working in CBMM’s Education Workshop, students will build model boats on Tuesdays and work on other woodworking projects, including an on-going build of a skin-on-frame kayak, on Thursdays.
Transportation: Free transportation is available for students at St. Michaels Middle/High School and Easton Middle School. Transportation from other schools may be available by request. Each session takes place on the campus of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in the Education Workshop.
Appropriate clothing: Safety is our highest priority. Students are required to wear close-toed shoes in the shop. We provide safety glasses, hearing protection, and dust protection in the shop. We also recommend wearing clothes that are okay to get messy. Space is provided to change clothes, and students can leave work clothes at the shop if they attend classes regularly.
Weather: Rising Tide follows Talbot County Public School weather related closings. If school is closed or dismissed early, classes at CBMM will also be canceled.

Cost: The Rising Tide program is generously supported by CBMM’s donors. At registration, families may select the level of financial program support that would most benefit their family to ensure their child is able to participate in the program.
