What is your Chesapeake story? That simple question inspired the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum’s new Stories from the Shoreline exhibition.

 

Opened July 1 in the Welcome Center’s Bill Millar Pavilion, Stories from the Shoreline offers an immersive exploration of the Chesapeake Bay through the voices, traditions, and experiences of the people who call it home. This long-term exhibition features dozens of personal stories illuminating pastimes and passions across generations, including shoreline fishing, waterfowling, plein air painting, eco-tourism, community conservation, and more.

 

Through these snapshots from the water’s edge, you’ll meet Chesapeake people, past and present, from both shores and discover how life along the Bay is shaped by the dynamic relationship between land and water.
