Spend your summers with CBMM! Camps allow children ages 4–15 to explore the magic of the Chesapeake’s people, traditions, animals, and environment. Weekly camp programs rotate between age groups, with each session limited to a maximum of 12 campers. Programs offer a fun, hands-on learning environment that includes stories, games, crafts, environmental and on-the-water activities, and creative projects.

Scholarships are available for qualifying students. CBMM Members receive a 20% discount on camp tuition.

 

Registration Information for 2023 Camps:

  • Monday, January 2, 12am – January 17, 9am: Members only summer camp registration opens. Member discount applies. 
  • January 17, 9am: Open registration for CBMM members and non-members.

 


Weekly Themes

    • Bay Scientists: What can we learn by studying the Bay?
    • Chesapeake Critters (Aquatic Animals): Take a closer look at the Bay’s aquatic critters, both large and small.
    • Chesapeake Critters (Land & Sky): Investigate animals that call the shores, forests, and wetlands their home.
    • Feathers, Fins, and Furs: In the sky, underwater, and on land—what can you find?
    • Go Green!: How do we make sure our Earth is happy and healthy, and what can we do to help?
    • Red, White, and Bay: Join us for a star-spangled spectacular week!
    • Shipwrecked!: Ahoy, matey! Join us to discover the Bay’s many treasures!
    • Water, Water, Everywhere!: Make a splash with us as we learn and play with water!

 

Sea Squirts: Open to ages 4–6. Camp operates from 9am-noon, Monday through Friday, and is $155 per week.

Terrapins: Open to youth who are entering grades 1–3. Camp runs from 9am–4pm, Monday–Friday, and is $355 per week.


Summer Workshops: Alternating camp weeks open to youth entering grades 4–6 and 6–9. Camp runs from 9am–4pm, Monday–Friday. $355 per week. Time will be spent in the workshop and out on the water. Campers are encouraged to apply for a scholarship through the Rising Tide program to cover all or part of their summer camp costs.

Museum Masters: New for 2023, we are offering Museum Masters camps for youth entering grades 4-6 and 6-9. Camp runs from 9am–4pm, Monday–Friday. $355 per week. Have you ever wondered about the work that goes into a museum and how we create the exhibits you enjoy so much? Join us for a behind-the-scenes week as you become a museum master. Explore CBMM’s collection and help create a special group exhibit!

  • July 10-14: Museum Masters, Grades 4-6
  • July 17-21: Museum Masters, Grades 6-9

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY:

Due to the popularity of summer camp programs and our frequency of waitlists, refunds for cancellations will be provided according to the following schedule:

  • All camp registrations are subject to a $25.00 non-refundable deposit.
  • If a cancellation request is received before May 1st, a 100% refund will be provided, minus the non-refundable $25.00 deposit.
  • If a cancellation request is received after May 1st but more than 30 days prior to the start of the program, a 50% refund will be provided, minus the non-refundable $25.00 deposit.
  • If a cancellation request is received within 30 days of the start of the program, no refund will be provided.

Transfers between camp weeks can be made up to one week before the program start date, provided that space is available. In cases of refunds for medical exclusions, please contact registration@cbmm.org. If CBMM cancels any camp program all registration fees will be refunded.
