Update Sept. 27: This event has been postponed.

Drawing inspiration from local rivers to the Gulf oil spill and hurricane disasters, acoustic-electric trio Big Tribe will present “Songs About the Water,” a concert of songs and stories with a dose of science. Big Tribe is catalyzed by singer-songwriter Peter Panyon, a retired biology professor at Prince George’s Community College, University of Maryland, and the Catholic University of America, alongside Bonnie Eyler (vocals, percussion) and Joe Heutte (vocals, bass). The music video for Big Tribe’s song, “Can’t Work the River,” is currently on view in CBMM’s exhibition, The Changing Chesapeake.

This event is generously sponsored by the Upper Shore Regional Folklife Center. Coffeehouse fare provided by Blue Heron Coffee.
