Guided Tour: Boats of the Bay: Racing Boats

Public guided tours are offered most weekends and holiday Mondays. All tours require admission with a suggested ticket price of $10 per person and begin at CBMM’s Welcome Center. Advanced reservations are recommended. Purchase a combo ticket for general admission and this tour here by selecting July 26 as the date. Public tours and general admission are free for CBMM members, and members can make reservations here.

This is the Boats of the Bay: Racing Boats Guided Tour. Sailors often claim that whenever two boats are heading in the same direction at the same time, there is a race. From sailing log canoes and skipjack races to one-design classes and hydroplanes, explore some of the racing traditions that keep the spirit of competition alive in the Chesapeake. This tour requires a moderate amount of walking (approximately 1/4 mile) across uneven surfaces, including gravel and boardwalk.
