Member Night: Sailing to Freedom Opening

CBMM members are invited to the opening of CBMM’s special exhibition Sailing to Freedom: The Maritime Dimensions of the Underground Railroad on Thursday, Sept. 26, beginning at 5:30pm. Based upon a book of the same name, the exhibition explores the lesser-known maritime aspects of the Underground Railroad and highlights stories of African Americans’ journeys to freedom along Atlantic Coast water routes, including the Chesapeake Bay.

During the exclusive opening event, members will have the opportunity to explore the exhibition in CBMM’s Changing Exhibitions Gallery and chat with CBMM’s Curatorial Team while enjoying light refreshments. Advance registration is required. Space is limited.
