Pictured in Time: An Artist’s Journey Around the Chesapeake

In the 1980s and 90s, renowned artist Neil Harpe traveled around the Bay photographing Chesapeake scenes that inspired his artwork. These stunning, never-before-published photographs portray a bygone era: graceful skipjacks and their captains, the Bay’s unique lighthouses and marshes, Baltimore’s vibrant waterfront, and fishing ports of Tilghman Island, Deal Island, Crisfield, and Annapolis. In this Speaker Event, Harpe will reflect on the photographs and his adventures, which were recently published in “Pictured in Time: An Artist’s Journey Around the Chesapeake.”
