Get creative with what we have around us! Homeschool students, ages 5-11, will use found objects, such as shells, driftwood, sea glass, recycling, and more to create works of art. CBMM educators will teach students about found object art and guide participants through the process of making their own artwork. All materials provided by CBMM as part of the registration cost. Pre-registration is required.

 

Homeschool Workshop: Natural Art

Homeschool students, ages 12 to 16, will work together to design, build, test, and improve their solution to a problem within the Chesapeake Bay using the engineering design process. This two-hour workshop focuses on creative collaboration, engineering learning, and problem solving. Day long admission to CBMM is included for all participants.  

The cost is $15 per program participant. Participants may be dropped off and picked up at the end of the program or a chaperoning adult may stay for the program.

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE AFTERNOON SESSION FOR AGES 12-16

Get creative in this art-based workshop for homeschoolers ages five to 15. Students will explore the current community-art exhibition The Changing Chesapeake with a CBMM educator and create their own project with artist Nancy Lorentz. This workshop will focus on art and environmental science though hands-on activities and visual thinking strategies. 

The cost is $15 per program participant. Participants may be dropped off by a chaperoning adult and picked up at the end of the program. If accompanying adults and additional non-participant children would like to explore CBMM during the program, they may purchase a $5 ticket with children five and younger free. 

 

Homeschool Creative Chesapeake
Date/Time: Wednesday, Jan. 24, 10:30am-noon
Location: Van Lennep Auditorium
Cost: $15 per student

Take flight as we explore how birds fly and the yearly journey many birds take. Homeschool students, ages 5-8, will read maps, chart bird migration, and design their own bird-inspired paper airplanes. This Homeschool Workshop will focus on geography, biology, and STEM through hands-on learning opportunities.

Cost is $15 per program participant. Participants may be dropped off by a chaperoning adult and picked up at the end of the program. If accompanying adults and additional non-participant children would like to explore CBMM during the program, they may purchase a $5 ticket with children 5 years and younger free.
