The Chesapeake Bay Week Film Festival begins on Saturday, April 13, with a showing of “Racing Rivals: Log Canoes of Chesapeake Bay.” Discover the beauty and elegance of Maryland’s iconic sailing log canoes in MPT’s newest documentary and the cornerstone film for the 20th anniversary of Chesapeake Bay Week. Meet the sailors and enthusiasts keeping this centuries-old Eastern Shore tradition alive through exhilarating weekend regattas. Following the film screening, CBMM Chief Historian and log canoe racer Pete Lesher will moderate a panel of log canoe skippers, owners, and crew members, sharing stories of this summertime Chesapeake tradition.
