Paint Night: Blizzard on the Bay

Join us on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 4pm for this fun and relaxed painting class! Get creative as you paint your own artwork with step-by-step instructions by teaching artist Nancy Lorentz. Great for a date night, friends’ outings, or a solo night out. 

This month’s piece features oysters on the half shell, using iridescent paints to bring the mother of pearl shells to life. All painting materials are provided by CBMM. (Feb. 7 update: Due to inclement weather in the forecast, CBMM will be closed on Saturday, Feb. 8, and Family Paint Day has been postponed and rescheduled for Saturday, March 8. There are still spots available to join us.)

Bring your family for an artful afternoon, joining artist Nancy Lorentz for a fun and relaxed painting class. Lorentz will lead families step-by-step in painting her “Cosmic Crab.” Since putting on a spectacular display over Talbot County last fall, the aurora borealis have inspired many artists and photographers. In this playful painting, it seems that the whole cosmos is carried on the back of a blue crab in the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. 

All painting materials provided by CBMM, plus child-friendly drinks and cookies. This program will be best enjoyed by children ages 8-and-up and their adults. We welcome families of all kinds, but all children must be supervised by a responsible adult.
