Skipjack Sail Training: Deal Island

Welcome aboard the historic skipjack Rosie Parks this September as we sail to and from historic locations hosting the vessel for the three skipjack races. Each leg or race offers a unique opportunity to navigate harbors, learn basic rules of the road, helmsmanship, line handling, docking, terminology, and history, alongside CBMM’s Shipyard staff and volunteers. Transits will include a ride back to the starting location to retrieve your car. The vessel is capped at six students per sail.

For the Deal Island races, you pick between three legs with specific sailing dates/times and rain dates. Please note that in signing up you agree to the date and rain date. Refunds will only be provided should we cancel the event or plan our departure outside of our rain date. Please review the race events details provided in the links for more information.

We are also offering these sail trainings for the Annapolis (Sept. 11, 14, 15) and Cambridge (Sept. 25, 28) races.

St. Michaels to Deal Island: Friday, Aug. 29 – 7am-6pm with 7-8:45pm car transit (Rain date: Aug. 30)
Deal Island Race Day: Monday, Sept. 1 – 8am-1pm
Deal Island to St. Michaels: Tuesday, Sept. 2 – 7am-6pm with 7-8:45pm car transit (Rain date: Sept. 3)
Cost: $150, with a 20% discount for CBMM members
