A St. Michaels tradition since 1969, Patriot Cruises takes passengers for an exploration of the Miles River on a 65-foot, USCG-inspected vessel built to resemble a traditional Chesapeake Bay steamboat. With its signature Narrated Historical Cruises and numerous specialty cruises, PATRIOT offers a memorable experience for all ages with on-board amenities that include a beverage and snack bar, indoor air-conditioned spaces, an upper outdoor deck, and bathrooms.
During its season from April-November, PATRIOT departs from St. Michaels harbor at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. Free parking is available in CBMM’s lot.

Happy Hour Cruises
This season, we are hosting a series of 90-minute Happy Hour Cruises on select weekend days at 4:30pm You won’t want to miss all the fun with live music, wine and rum tastings, and themed celebrations to enhance your experience cruising the Miles River. Kick off your evening in style by enjoying stunning views and delicious drinks aboard PATRIOT. (Please note: All of our Happy Hour Cruises are for guests 21 years or older.)

Log Canoe Spectator Cruises
Experience log canoe races on the Miles River with Patriot Cruises. Log canoe races are a quintessential Chesapeake pastime, and these two-hour cruises provide a view of the unique vessels under sail with experienced sailors to explain all the exciting action as it’s unfolding.

Young Explorers Cruises
Calling all young adventurers! This 45-minute cruise is designed especially for children, packed with engaging activities, memorable photo opportunities, and a grooving dance party!

Special Events
Patriot Cruises is pleased to offer the opportunity to celebrate holidays and CBMM festivals with special events aboard PATRIOT. For 2025, we kicked off the season with a Toast to the Chesapeake cruise, and we also shared special offerings for Mother’s Day, Independence Day, and more, plus our popular Jazz on the Miles River cruises.
Refund Policy: Once tickets are purchased, we have a no refund policy. If you notify us of an emergency, traffic, or medical issue at least two hours before your cruise, we will allow you to reschedule your cruise to a later date and/or time in the season.
