The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum explores and preserves the history, environment, and culture of the entire Chesapeake Bay region, and makes this resource accessible to all. Our members and guests enjoy transformative experiences as they encounter Chesapeake Bay history firsthand through real people, real work, original artifacts and exhibitions, visual arts, and Chesapeake artifacts.
CBMM’s park-like waterfront setting includes numerous indoor and outdoor exhibitions, a working Shipyard, Museum Store, a floating fleet of historic vessels, Members-Only Marina, and is easily reached by car or boat. Each time you experience the Bay with us, you’ll take away something new!

Located in the heart of historic St. Michaels, CBMM offers two-day general admission. We encourage you to take a harborside stroll into town to enjoy unique shopping, delectable dining, and local history. The Town of St. Michaels and Talbot County offer wonderful lodging, opportunities to explore by bike or water, engaging museums, art galleries, and other attractions.
Docking at CBMM
Located along St. Michaels Harbor and the Miles River in the heart of St. Michaels’ historic district, CBMM’s Members-Only Marina is a short walk from the area’s best restaurants, specialty shops, and other attractions.
Guided Tours
CBMM offers a variety of guided tours of our can’t-be-missed exhibitions and objects. These hour-long interactive tours are are offered most weekends and holiday Mondays from January to March. Check out the tour schedule here.
Tours require admission and a suggested ticket price of $10 per person. Advanced reservations recommended and can be reserved with general admission. Public tours and general admission are free for CBMM members. Head to our calendar to check the schedule and purchase tickets!
All tours require a moderate amount of walking across uneven surfaces including gravel and boardwalk. Some tours also require walking up and down several flights of stairs. Tours will depart from CBMM’s Welcome Center.to
Boat Cruises
Enhance your visit to CBMM with a boat ride on the Miles River. CBMM offers a variety of opportunities to get out on the water – plan your perfect nautical adventure!n
Museum Store
Visit CBMM’s Museum Store to find unique items showcasing coastal, nautical, and regional merchandise to include home decor, souvenirs, toys, and apparel.
