The Chesapeake Bay Week Film Festival begins Saturday, April 5, at 2pm, with a family-friendly showing of "Creatures of the Chesapeake."
Put your knowledge to the test with some casual competition. Bring your own team or form one once you arrive. Rounds are themed, and questions may cover anything from Chesapeake cuisine to landmarks to knot puns, and everything in between. Who will be the champion of obscure knowledge?

With many outcomes targeted for achievement by 2025, a group of Chesapeake leaders have worked to identify the future of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement and what is next for the conservation efforts in the Chesapeake. This event will bring together speakers Anna Killius (Chesapeake Bay Commission) and Leila Duman (Maryland Department of Natural Resources) to discuss ongoing efforts for a refreshed Chesapeake Bay agreement.
The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum's special exhibition Sailing to Freedom: Maritime Dimensions of the Underground Railroad will be the topic of discussion for the Talbot Family Network's Conversation on Race program at the Van Lennep Auditorium on Monday, Feb. 24 beginning at 5:30 p.m. The free program will include a guided exploration of the exhibition,followed by facilitated discussion, with a light meal and refreshments provided. Seating is limited and pre-registration is needed.
On Thursday, Feb. 20, in the Van Lennep Auditorium, CBMM Chief Curator Pete Lesher will share stories of the Black workers and packinghouse owners who drove this local industry.

On Saturday, Jan. 25, in the Van Lennep Auditorium, David Gendell, author of “The Last Days of Schooner America,” will trace the history of the famous vessel, including the never-before-told story of its final days at the Annapolis Yacht Yard, combining archival sources and oral histories to shape the story.

Great for a date night, friends’ outings, or a solo night out. This month’s piece is a winter scene featuring snow-covered loblolly pines along a coastline. All painting materials are provided by CBMM.
Aquatic invasive species pose an existential threat to the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem and ways of life associated with it such as crabbing and fishing. Through his lab at Salisbury University, Assistant Professor of Physiology Noah Bressman studies Blue Catfish and the Northern Snakehead to learn the best ways to manage their populations, while also supporting initiatives to encourage people to catch, kill, and or eat these invasive fish to try to keep their populations down.
Homeschool students ages 5-10 will work together to design, build, and test solutions to real world problems. This session focuses on how to keep heavy things afloat. This two-hour workshop focuses on creative collaboration, engineering learning, and problem solving.
